If you can't get Thunnus Jon, the 6000/8000 are a good second. I have had the castizm BRs, very nice reels, couldn't fault them, however the Thunnus were a far better balance for me.
Nice rod for the money, none get anywhere near tbh. Now if I was gonna buy a rod for the odd Barbel, I'd rather by this than the Acco specimen and save the extra money for a decent reel etc...
The best stick float rod I had was Daiwas Amorphous Tournament 13 ft 2 inch spliced tip. Closely followed by The Stick float Special. I have 2 Shaky Mach 2 Borons, which I'm more than happy with. Don't lose why spliced tip rods became popular, quick, fast and tip a tinned for close work with...

It's a little like fibre glass rods, there is only so far you could go with them. Now we are at that point with carbon. The biggest change over the past few years has been reducing the resin in carbon cloths. Its quite catastrophic when this mark has been reached.
The fact MT used 2 totally different actions, totally debunks his findings. One was a through action, the other a carp rod made primarily for distance. 2 rods with totally different loading points. Now if he had used all dark Carbon rods, then he would have had my vote and probably had a rush on...
