Hi guys - hope you are all safe and well.
Haven't been on for a while. However, I'm looking for a Korum Neoteric twin tip 1.75/2.2 rod and Emcast Advanced Advanced 4500 reel if anyone has either they'd be prepared to part with.
I have a set of three but would love to make up a set of four. These...
I was having the same issues - Bill Mottram sold the business a while back but still involved from reading/viewing the stuff on their website. Need some ProVal and a few other bits - I'll try Rollin Baits as well thanks.
Interesting thread - skipped last few pages as anxious to post! I think chances of a massive Barbel from a small river are largely gone due to predation by our furry friends, and any hidden or lightly fished stretches that are likely to hold an undiscovered big fish are even more susceptible to...
I've used hemp oil in most boilie/paste mixes over the years. Still probably use Nutrabaits stuff for the main mix, but happily use Good oil from tesco in groundbait or stick mixes. Really good with carpet feed which doesn't need water. As said before, be wary in a stick mix in cold water as...
My only real experience was on smaller rivers - Kennet mainly. Home made boilie mix with slightly different balance of ingredients depending on season. Used to do little campaigns - few days at a time trickling a few baits into half a dozen swims in very specific spots using a baitdropper...
Bit late on this one, but I've fished it a few times for Perch and not done well. Tenchfishers used to fish it regularly but again sport wasn't good over last few years. Last I heard last year was that they were going to do some studies on water quality etc. to try and get to the bottom of...
Bird nesting season is probably 1st April onward, earlier if the weather has been mild - a lot of vegetation clearance will be done at end-March to beat the cut-off. We certainly will do it as a preventative measure at work if we think there is a chance of needing to do other construction work...
Does read very poorly and as such not something I would see as the right place to make a point about Otters. Better through AT or at least some formal body who can draft something a bit more convincing.
Any of you Kennet chaps go to Reading Angling Centre - is it still there?
Spent a lot of time and money in there when I lived in Reading - excellent bait and tackle, and a good crack too.
Rob used to bag you up maggots in the bait room, which a lot of places won't do now.
Paul - water temps will lag a bit behind air temps, and so you might catch the tail end of warmer water depending on how soon you fish after the temps take a downward turn. High with colour would say Barbel to me - low clear and cold then maybe not. Only Barbel would drag me out at the moment -...
