    Return to fishing

I’m looking at returning to barbel fishing after over 10 years away. I originally gave up after all my gear was stolen and I was unable to afford to replace it all. I’ve now decided I want to return but being on a budget I’m unsure if the cheap Korum rods on eBay are a worthwhile purchase. Has...

    Andy Whitham Feeders

I've been using Andys feeders for a few weeks and wouldn't use any thing else now. I found them to be bombproof with a good range of sizes. I've been using them on the swale with with good effect catching several barbel to 12lb 8oz and have yet to retrieve a tangled rig using them. If you want...

    Hooks for the wealthy

Personally my main problem with korum hooks has been where the eye has been joins to the shank there's a sharp little nobble which cuts into the hooklength when using the knotless knot. Maybe I just got a faulty batch but where's the quality control?

    elips pellets

I've been doing quite well on Hinders baits, so won't be switching brands anytime soon. As said before it's a confidence thing.

    Your first barbel

Mine was from the River wharfe at Boston Spa aged 15 while fishing maggot feeder with a 2lb hooklength and size 20 hook. I was with a couple of friends, all day we had been catching eels and I was helping a friend unhook one (somehow it had managed to climb into his welly :D) when my other mate...
