i did 4 months on the loddon at a tough stretch fishing daytime only for one 5lb chub
i know people were catching at 3am but i really don't enjoy fishing at that time of night!
I fished a town stretch Wednesday night and two guys sat behind me smoking weed and playing music not that enjoyable tbh I think early mornings are probably the way forward I decided to pack in when groups of kids were wandering around the park with torches.
I'm more than capable of dealing...
I Jon I always feeder fish and would like a reel versatile enough to use on the Thames but also on medium sized rivers like the Dorset Stour and loddon.
Maybe i'm asking too much I have an Okuma which I detest and a shimano 4000, I have okuma big pits for carp fishing which are actually ok...
I'm thinking about switching from shimano to these reels, I have noticed that you can get them for £89.99 which seems pretty good.
Someone has offered me 2 second hand for £140 which I think is a bit much given the above, I was considering offering £120 for the pair second hand which seems...
There maybe be the odd one in some old CAT magazines, his book is very good if you can get hold of a second hand copy ?
Maybe head to throop if you want a better chance of a fish it's not far, I'm sure however that terry did fish the stour further up for barbel, Avon angling in ringwood might...
If you check out some Terry Lampard articles that should point you in the right direction.

Im not overly keen on the rod, i did have a look the other day at the drennan specialist avon that was qute nice if a bit tarty with the finish!
Half debating stretching to a Harrison...
had a nice day out today think i had 7 tench in total and lost 2 up to abut 5lbs....back to the rivers now for me!
the morning fish all fell to boilie but the afternoon fish all came on the maggot which was rather weird
On highly pressured venues it's a wonder whether pellets etc are putting the fish off mind you enough seem to get caught on them still perhaps a case of right time right place rather than right bait
