River Kennet Burhfield - Advanced Angling

Someone I know had an 18.2 further down Cliff...... Probably 12-14 years ago.

River Kennet Burhfield - Advanced Angling

Cracking fish The Kennet seems to be making a revival the last couple of years. I wouldn't fish anywhere with dodgy parking myself. Just can't relax. The RDAA ticket is good value with lots of water to go at. Some good tench pits too......

River Kennet Burhfield - Advanced Angling

The fishing is certainly worth it but it hasn't thrown up the fish it used to years ago. Lots of barbel to low teens. My main concern would be the parking. Cottage Lane used to be a big problem but I understand its better these days. The Cunning man pub is out of bounds now and I wouldn't park...

River Kennet Burhfield - Advanced Angling

That was in the Cemex days Graham. He and Neil Wayte would even be fishing the far bank swims that were out of bounds...... It used to throw up some huge fish back then to 18+ The parking was always a nightmare. We could park in the pub in them days but even that was unsafe.

    Old Daiwa powermesh twin tip

Derek, Maybe you should read my comments again. Tell me where I spat my dummy out? Advising a new member that perhaps they would get more from this forum by engaging a little more in the threads that they had started. I tend not to 'lose it' on here. I've been a member for far too long. I've...

Pick your dummy up and stop being a child! I've been on this forum for probably over 20 years and you are sure the first to have taken offence!

    Old Daiwa powermesh twin tip

Martin, From what I can see you have managed to start 5 more threads since I replied to your post on Saturday, pretty much daily! Maybe try engaging a bit more if you have the time to start so many threads. There is a trend, train driver or not.

    Old Daiwa powermesh twin tip

It appears that a few of us have replied to a post that hasn't even been followed up by the author Martin. He's obviously too busy posting a thousand other posts on different subjects. By the way Martin, in case you just happen to bother looking in on here. I've spent many years on Burghfield on...

    Old Daiwa powermesh twin tip

Yes, I have a 1.25 lb powermesh specialist twin tip. It's 11' 9 inches. Comes with a quiver tip top as well with 3 different quiver tips. It's been in my loft for about 12 years with 3 other daiwa rods that I nearly sold altogether last year but for a total time waster! They remain in my loft...

Loss of fish haunting - redemption

We all have our opinions Damian and that is all they are. I don't get angry just frustrated at times. I guess if I were that concerned about holding a fish up for a 'trophy' shot, I'd play more golf!

Loss of fish haunting - redemption

I carry and use a mat on every trip. I use a korum fast mat with sides to protect the fish even more than a normal flat mat. I also hold my fish up for self take photos ( over a mat and low to the ground) In 50 years of angling I can honestly say that I have never harmed a fish in my life...

    Bank Tackle Backlead Adaptors.

I too use the bank tackle absailer clips but find the need to cut the rubber sleeve down to clip on easier and quicker. Used in conjunction with the 1 oz saucer back leads without the 's' clip they make a great combination.

Compact camera with flip round screen

A super camera which I bought brand new many years ago. I still have it and carry in my fishing bag but seldom use these days in preference to my Samsung phone. Flip screen and infrared remote made this camera the best of its kind in my opinion at the time.

    Gardner hydro tuff

Chris, I've been using it for the last 2 seasons. I used to swear by GR60 but the Hydro tough is far superior. Very abrasion resistant and doesn't curl up and hang like a broken spring. You won't be disappointed. Hope you're well and have a great Xmas. John

    Wellies

So many people swear by these and yet my experience with them having tried 3 pairs is awful. On 2 of the pairs the sole came away within 18 months and the other pair leaked. I bought a pair of the fortis 2 years ago and they are superb albeit a little heavy...
