Well Rich, I do have a ticket for parts of the Lea close to where Fred used to fish :D so I will be giving that a go although the last time I fished it (3yrs) all I caught were crays and saw an enormous otter on the far bank which then swam down to my mate about 150 yrds faster than Bolt can run...
I use a pin on small rivers as for me its the best tool for the job, but this year I will also add my Fred Crouch barbel perfection cane as a tribute to the late great man himself:)
im hoping to do Freds memory justice by catching a few good uns with one of his rods, ill post any significant...
Ive just sent my wychwood back via angling direct as it bent out of shape with the first fish I landed with it:mad:
been waiting a week for either a return or money back :( not a happy bunny
I also have the 30 plus triangular which is an excellent bit of kit no troubles there
Alan
only brought the wychwood for small rivers as the triangular 36 I use (30 plus make) is awkward to transport when I want to fish short sessions
The wychwood folds in half and fits nicely between my seat so carrying is easier, got fed up carting loads of gear between swims so this is part of...
recently brought the wychwood fold down in 36 size seems to cope quite well in awkward swims on the colne, so no problems so far:)
Cost around £30

simple rules to follow : supply a good photo, have a reliable witness or two to verify the fish and a written account of the capture, provide a copy of the scales calibration certificate.
This may be difficult if fishing alone, but such a capture is surely worthy of carrying out properly.

just looked at the picture of your chair, does it recline? also there are gaps in the seat which expose the support bolts which dig in at times when sitting for long periods. Im v happy with the chairs weight compared to my old one along with its reclining feature and extra padding. Your chair...
Just purchased a wychwood superlight recliner, only weighs 4.9kg!!

just picked up an `allcocks adonis` on fleabay a couple of weeks ago for a really good price. its been restored but as I like to use em occasionally on unplanned trips combined with a pin, cant decide which one to use :D
Cane rods are great for close in work and especially for touch legering...
popped into a local branch of Lathams yesterday with a mate, poor service as sales person very grumpy and unhelpful. Not even a `thankyou` when he paid for his goods which was quite a bit. These retailers need a lesson in customer service. good manners cost nothing. I personally wont be using...
first barbel
1974 Thames opposite monkey island float fishing for anything on my winfield rod and black prince reel. Thought id caught a monster gudgeon until my late uncle identified it as a baby barbel of around 12oz. 13 years later i caught my first by design when I gave up matches and...

The S5 also has a ten sec timer delay and if you set the timer to custom you can set for an even longer delay and to take up to 10 consecutive shots (advanced manual) :D Simples
This gives anyone plenty of time to look into the reversed flip screen and frame the picture to ensure a great self...
Nearly had a bad moment and actually thought of parting with my S5:mad:
But came to senses and brought a panny FZ38 for gen photos of wildlife etc
The S5 is far too good for fishing shots esp self takes at night on your own and takes quite nice video as well:D
An excellent choice Pete...
