10 years to the day ?

Yep, how time flies eh. This time 10 years ago exactly I'd just got back from a spell in Oman, and there were Sea King's flying over my house to rescue people at the end of the road.

Drennan Acolyte plus 13ft....powerful enough for barbel?

Definitely up to it. I've had barbel to 12lb on mine and it still had plenty of power in reserve. Nice fish playing action and light enough to hold for an age too.

    Korum River Tripod 2017

I can't see how it can hold a light to the Prologic one tbh.

    Centrepin reel cases?

Just type in "centrepin neoprene" into an eBay search and they have them on there for £3.70 a pop. I've had a few and they're fine.

    Ashfield angling

They've also just taken up the lease on the Thrumpton non weir stretch (it was known as the day ticket Ferry Farm stretch). It's a great fishery with fairly easy banks with some whackers in there. But it's not a bites aplenty stretch.

    CC Moore Meteor

Hi Jeff I'm not looking to change my chosen bait/s. Was just letting any interested parties know that there was pretty much the final chance to get some meteor if they were nearby to climax.

    CC Moore Meteor

If anyone lives not too far from Climax Tackle they're clearing their freezers this weekend. On their list to get rid of cheap is residual stock of CC Moore Meteor boilies. Great barbel bait thats not produced anymore by CC Moore. If only I lived closer

    Float rod for barbel/chub

The Acolyte Plus is definitely not undergunned for very decent barbel (the Ultra version is not as strong though). I have the 14ft model and fish it with a pin loaded with 6lb braid, and 5lb hooklength. Have had barbel to 12lb and the rod still had plenty of power in reserve.

    Grey's Prodigy PB Barbel Rod

And.....I've had a Harrison torrix snap on the tip without undue pressure or strain. Just the luck of the draw sometimes.

    Grey's Prodigy PB Barbel Rod

The same as the vast majority of rods then Richard. There's actually some pretty reasonable carbon comes out of China nowadays anyhow. For those on a 'below UK blanks' budget......there's nothing wrong with these, along with most of the other major brands.

Is it me? Is it real?

And there's no way that that's a domestic cat. Not a chance.

Is it me? Is it real?

That's was taken about 5 mins from my sisters house, and 10 mins from mine........... Just as well I'm on the trent this weekend

    Warks Big Cat

I seem to recall a thread on here fairly recently which debated whether big cats were living in the UK countryside or not. For the doubters, this might be of interest.... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1470557339637925&id=219817851378553 Note you might need to log into...

    Drennan Acolye Plus 13ft

More than enough power for barbel Cliff. I have the 14ft Acolyte Plus and it played a 12lb'er beautifully the other week for me.......and still had plenty in reserve.

    LHW /RHW centrepins

Say most people are left hand wind. Reeling anti clockwise with the check on gives a lesser click than if you would the other way (right hand wind). Other than that...not much in it.
