Anyone saw the stunning Aurora tonight.
Strongest they’ve been in the uk for over 20 years.
We got some absolutely amazing pictures in the crystal clear sky’s above Cambridge.
Please share your pics if you were out admiring it too.
It’s rare I use anything but a bog standard stemmed bolo float and like most people I’ve got hundreds of others that come out rarely but are handy when you need them.
I’m selling a bunch of those types off because I’ve got far too many I couldn’t physically lose them all in my lifetime.
All...
Before jumping to conclusions….. it was caught March 7th.
I wasn’t able to share the photograph until yesterday when it was published in our clubs magazine (historic rule)
Anyway it’s a pb barbel for me.
I don’t normally post about my captures in any detail and I’m certainly not one for...
Calling all float trotters (again)
Where do you stand on this (vote) and why.
I love a spliced tip for trotting for several reasons whether they we’re initially designed for that reason or not.
Striking or whipping the tip with the wrist performs a very positive and fast strike.
Additional...
I saw a post on a Facebook group the other day that got me thinking.
Then I received a pm on here asking similar questions that got me thinking even more….
Its very difficult to obtain a normark rod for the right money if you really don’t know what you’re looking for. Some are worth £30 and...
I have a modern daiwa float rod 13ft 3 equal length pieces. So pretty standard stuff.
It’ needs a rod bag but I don’t want a new one or even the original one
Now while it wasn’t the original, the bag I’m looking for is the light blue thick cloth bag with Daiwa written all over it in white...

Just finished them off. A nice order for @Rob Weldon and the camo brown in textured finish has come out a treat. They look like stones covered in mud or silt.
Very natural looking indeed
I’m really pleased with these and I hope they catch the new owner lots of big fish...

This winter I’ve added afew new (second hand) float rods to my collection and in doing so I’ve obviously been taking advantage and using them extensively along with many others that I have. Comparing them and really getting to know the things I like and dislike.
I thought I’d share some...
I’ve got 18 x 2oz low profile cage tunnel feeders made up that will be coated and linked tomorrow
Absolutely ideal for the rivers in June at NSL.
They’ll be standard 7 frame (40mm) length
low profile 20mm high tunnel all in 2oz. Premium stainless steel construction in my greeny gravel type...
New for 2024.
You’ve asked me on occasions to go smaller and lighter so here we are.
Originally 50g was my lower limit but I’m now able to offer these. I’ve been using them myself for a while when I’ve knocked up a one off for my own personal fishing and they are fabulous for their intended...
Just an FYI
If you are an owner of this futuristic looking little reel and are in a position where it needs a bearing, your probably right now pulling your hair out from both the lack of information on the internet and the lack of response from kingpin themselves.
Well fear not as I am also...
My barbel fishing is definitely heading in different directions and these bad boys are not getting the attention they deserve. I love em but I don’t need them.
Im not ledgering much nowadays and im certainly not launching lead into the horizon anymore
Ultimately I’ll be going to 1 set of...
For those that don’t know Fox started wrapping carbon rods in Kevlar in the very early 2000’s
It was started with the predators and a carp rod I believe then it went into the specialist rods the kevlex and the Kevlars.
Baring colour and test curve differences the blank manufacturing process I’m...
Off setting a fraction of my recent expenditures of a new purchase and an expensive restoration.
While these two rods haven’t been used in some time, it’s not easy to let them go.
Firstly to save some time and questions
Both have great condition original bags.
Both have no damage or...
I know this covers several pins including the common design used in youngs pins.
Not all are the same so do your checks as necessary.
I’ve seen a couple of things on line about this particularly with bob James pins and a super light.
The one I’m going to show you is the same procedure. Fox...
Has anyone looked At Korums new product range yet coming soon.
They’ve focused a lot on us float guys this time round with float boxes, more lines, meat cutters and something that caught my eye which was their tray tripod thing. Something like that I’d use a lot because I don’t particularly...
Long shot I know ….. people aren’t going to willingly let these go but if you do find yourself not using it or have a spare you probably won’t use and want to let it go then I’ll happily give you top cash for it or part ex something you might be looking for. Whatever works
The 13’6 or any...
