I can also recomend Hinders,probably the best mail order sevice,i have used.

i think chub could be the culprit here.

I started using plain 2mm carp pellets,when hemp quality dropped,found you could flavour them to suit your hookbait aswell.

i bought the 42 inch ngt complete net with rubberised mesh and find it difficult to use/manouver because ot the extra weight compared to normal mesh heads.

no ,ngt do a rubberised mesh,but it is very heavy compared to normal mesh.

dave lumb specialist tackle do a 36 inch lure weave mesh,which might be suitable as a replacement mesh for barbel fishing.

i use a medium feeder rod for chub on the swale,but from the odd encounter with a barbel whilst chubbing,i have found them not to be suitable for the task,although fish can be landed,the swim soon empties of chub whilst your undergunned rod is playing out the barbel.i would recommend nothing...

the most important advice on fishing a rising river is safety first.you must have some idea of the area you are fishing,how safe the peg is,how fast the river is rising,what the weather is going to be like during the session,ect,there is no fish worth endangering yourself or others for,regardes...
