I actually have a 1.75 torrix customised to take the Drennan tips. Not all barbel bites are wrap around. I'm sure I have caught extra fish because of this rod.
I have also used Darren . I popped into his lock up , he left the alarm that he was working on an fixed my 20 plus year old delkim. I had to go back to collect the next day as he had to let the waterproofing sealant set. Excellent service!
I have tried them . The ones that I used made very little difference to my cold feet. The batteries which tuck in to the top of the socks catch on the top of a wellington making an uncomfortable area. I wouldn't buy again.
I tried it on one rod on the tidal trent . The other rod had different boilie on . I had one barbel on the cell and nine on the other ! I have always believed beforehand that flavour didn't matter. :D
:D
It is not surprising that records are not claimed. I know that I have not done so myself. There are two reasons that i know of (1) anglers don't want their hard work finding the fish lost to what can be a circus. (2) Cost. talking to a current record holder he said that it had cost into three...
Not necessarilly Richard . I had a 7.6 in february that had been 8,2 in october caught by a well respected angler( and friend) with witnesses. It had moved from its normal haunt as the snag that it lived in had been removed. Unless I misweighed it. lol
Wheathamstead on the upper Lea is reasonably easy fishing for mostly small barbel , but some go to 13. The other alternatives are , the Trent Or The thames
That's a laughable idea . Catching rocking horse ****. i was there today, a sucessfull angler on the fishery told me that he had caught a hundred barbel, fishing a least once a week ......... in TWENTY FIVE years! I'm in my second season, still haven't had a barbel from there
