Cotswold Delux Roamer Chair
My first reaction to the Cotswold Rover Chair was 'Wow!'.
On first inspection it looks like a fantastic piece of design that could solve all my problems when wanting to travel light but still fish in some comfort. On testing it out in my garden my views were similar and I started thinking I could take it everywhere with me (pub? shopping?)!

The chair consists of two padded panels that fold together for carrying. The panels are joined together with adjustable side straps and when expanded the straps form the side supports of the chair. You therefore sit nice a snug on one of the panels with the other as your back rest. The bottom pannel also has an extendable, water proof flap that extends to protect the lower half of your legs in the wet. On the other side of the back rest is a single pocket for tackle about 6 inches square and roughly an inch and a half deep. This is the first downfall of the Rover. The pocket just isn't big enough to get a decent ammount of kit in. Had Cotswold added a secound pocket of a similar size to the first, I could have given up the ruck sack and used the Roamer chair alone. The Roamer also has a padded carry strap. In use on the bank the chair was good when sitting on fairly level surfaces though as soon as the banks started getting steeper I found myself sliding down on the sometimes slippery canvas material.

At £44.95 it's not great value for money and won't get you selling your conventional chair. It is however a very cleverly designed piece of kit that, for the angler that travels extremely light could be the ideal solution.
