on our family owned and managed park located
on Throop fishery (beat 3) of the Dorset Stour.
Day permits are available from reception for the
caravan park stretch encompassing 1 mile of
the Eastern (Christchurch) bank. Day
permits for beats 2 and 3 are available
from the local tackle shop, 5 minutes drive from
the park. See our website for photos of 
numerous 12lb - 15lb Barbel caught on
our permit beat.
We are also conveniently located for fishing 
the famous Avon Royalty fishery.

Wye Barbel Fishing

We have an excellent barbel day ticket
venue available just 50 yards from the
accommodation and another just 10
minutes drive away (advanced booking
required for this one).

The Biblings at Symonds Yat is just a
short 10 min drive away and there is lake
fishing available just 5 min drive away
(advanced booking is also required here
as well).

Camping allowed on riverbank £5 per
person per night - new block of toilets
and 1 shower available 24hr.

Kerne Cottage is situated at Kerne Bridge
four miles south of Ross-on-Wye, famous
for its local Barbel. Our stretch of river is 100yds
away, with private fishing, which does not belong
to us, and can be booked through the Wye & Usk
Foundation, a quarter of a mile away.

Day tickets are available from the local shop
at Bishopswood. Other Barbel fishing
areas close by are, The Biblins,
Symonds Yat, and the market town of
Ross-on Wye.

Close by Lake fishing is also available,
at Drummonds Dub, and Hartelton which
offers Bream, Carp, Roach, Perch,
Tench, & Rudd.

The cottage has a secure stone shed
available for the storage of equipment.
The Inn on The Wye is 150 yds away
offering excellent food and beer at
sensible prices.

Kerne Cottage comprises of two bedrooms
sleeping 4 people in either two double
beds, or one double bed and 2 singles.
It has a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable
lounge with log burner. The bathroom has
an electric shower. There is also a utility
room with washing machine and tumble
dryer. Private parking for two cars.

Description of Accommodation:  

Both lodges sleep two and are both ground floor only properties. 'Herons' has a Super King sized bed, (splits into two 3ft beds), whilst 'Swans' has a king sized bed & also a sofa bed. Well behaved dogs are allowed to stay in Swans.

Both apartments have a lounge/dining area with patio doors leading onto their own sun terrace overlooking the garden & River Wye. TV & DVD player, Wifi, sofa & comfy chairs, dining table & chairs. Fully equipped kitchen. Washing machine. Shower room with W.C & washbasin. Ample parking.

Description of Fishing:

We have prime barbel and chub fishing right on our doorstep!

We have an arrangement with the estate who own fishing rights to fish from the garden, (only those staying are allowed to fish from here). Daily permits are also available allowing fishing on certain designated areas of river at Byford.
