Fishing..tough on the heart!

There's a brief article in today's Times (page 20) which reads as follows;

Reeling in a fish is as strenuous as scoring a goal in football or a try in rugby, according to scientists. Experts from the University of Chester fitted heart monitors to a group of championship anglers. The average resting rate for a healthy male ranges form 50 to 100 beats per minute (bpm). However, the anglers averaged 145bpm, with some reaching 180 bpm as they reeled in their catches.

I suspect that the for barbel fishers, the spike, from resting to playing a fish, is akin to an F1 car setting off at a Grand Prix and occurs moments after the three foot twitch! Be aware and take care.
