Portugal Algarve Barbel Fishing

The really big barbel out there are to be found in the large dams, they are not the norm and although they certainly do go well over 30lb such fish are very rare indeed.

I'm saying, don't get your hopes up. Good fishing to be had for sure though.

The river they fish is the same one I fish in Spain, the Guadiana, the place I go is an hour from the Portuguese border.
 
thanks for the reply mate, i cant wait im sure ill have a good time no matter what, ill probably visit algarve once a year for barbel fishing
