Hi Paul, it has a ratchet.
Looking at the Adcock the backplate has a few scratches on. £55 all in now.

The Aventa is now sold.

Yes and no. It's more of a breaking mechanism.

I've found that after a few barbel on a pin that a strategically placed elastoplast can prevent damage to the brake.
