Daiwa Rod Help

Graham Elliott

Senior Member & Supporter
I have been given a Daiwa trotting rod.

It says its a S Mk111 13ft and finishes with the Letters AP (Iv'e seen AU bit not AP)

It also has Power Special Written on it....

Any Daiwa specialist here? I have done a search without success. Im looking for line ratings ideally.

Thanks

Graham.

Graham,
this doesn't help much with line ratings, but it does provide evidence of their existence.

Hi Graham
At least Chris found the rod, ... I wondered if the A P code stood for Aqualite Power, which according to a seller on Amazon has a line rec. of 2-8 lbs and he had used 6-8 for mullet. Personally I thought the 2lb sounded a bit low .

Chris.
Thats the one brilliant. I had tried for about an hour on web with no success.

Ok. Im fishing for roach on Trent tomorrow and it seemed a very soft tip to prevent bumping them yet maybe also manage those pesky barbel that come along.

I reckon it might fit the job.
Cheers Dave. For your imput......ill be on 7lb line.

Young Chris is a good man in times of need Graham, like a digital blood hound. He could find the proverbial needle in a haystack :D From my point of view he only spoils things by being a damned good angler too :p I am rapidly going off you lot....I really need to find more anglers at my level to give me a crumb of self respect in my old age :D:D:D

Cheers, Dave.

I have a slightly older Daiwa rod lovely soft tip a keeper.... Which is unusual for me

It wouldn't be a Team Daiwa S Mk3 by any chance? the AP is normally used to show that it's a more powerful version of the standard AU, ie the AP is a Power Waggler rod.
The modern day equivalent states a line rating of 3-8Ib
