The idea of at least having a fake caster on the hook if the real ones were getting hammered was my way of thinking. I've had some great pointers here, thanks guys.
Was thinking of trying something a bit different and trying a hemp and caster approach. My thoughts are on bait presentation. Would I be better to:
A) Mount Caster directly on the hook?
B) Put a fake caster on a hair and superglue the real ones to it?
Or
C) use a fine wire hook on a hair...
Maxima Chameleon does sink like a stone. Certainly best feeder line I have used. Landed double figure barbel on 6lb BS (not suggesting everyone does that) but very abrasion resistant too. Yes I have tried the others and Daiwa Sensor is tough as old boots too and good value to come a close...
Thanks for the advice. I've used all 3 and can't see if one scores over the other. Years ago it was 6lb Maxima straight through to a size 14 with 3 maggots on the hook and this worked a treat for the middle Severn for fish in the 4-6lb class but average sizes are up.
I'm sure I'm not the first person on here to ask this. I hear and read so many conflicting statements. What works best? Braid, Flourocarbon or Plain Mono?
