Algal bloom on the Wye

Wye and Usk Foundation website... Doesn't bode well for the beginning of the season

Forecast is for rain and showers, pretty much till opening day across Southwest England and Southern Wales I believe. Hopefully give it a bit of a freshen up.

Hope it has gone by beginning of July when I have a week booked, last year the water looked like malt vinegar and it definitely affected the fishing.

Total regulatory failure. 10m chickens produce an awful lot of phosphate rich manure, what did they expect would happen when it all gets spread on marginal sheep and beef land in an area where they measure the annual rainfall in feet rather than inches?!

Had a walk by the river today - not as bad as it was in the main flow, margins still cloudy in places and river level is slightly up on what it has been.
