Chimera flood and snag

if you cant laugh at yourselfs then theres no point in laughing:D

Very true mark I mean who in the right mind would have a custom built torrix with pink whippings (le mullet)

My new pet is called The Chief because I am;)

In answer to Karl I have 2 x flood and snag and purchasing another awesome rods in my opinion .they're not the poker that the name suggests and they bend with average size barbel and have power in reserve.

Dear All,
Just to let you all know I was informed by Harrison today that they have discontinued the 11ft 6ins 2.25lb Chimera Snag/flood Barbel Rod for 2022
.
You will have to go to the 12ft 2.25lb Chimera no 3 rod now !!! - same rod but at 12ft.

Another Harrison alternative is the 2 1/4 standard specialist. I’ve got to admit that mine haven’t had a good enough test yet (either barbelling or tenching) because my Chimera 2s do nearly everything in that respect. But if you’re after a powerful but progressive actioned rod have a word with Dave Lumb

Hi All
I brought a pair of Chimera 11ft 6 snag and flood rods about eighteen years ago, from Leslie of Luton, and used them as my big fish/flood rods, they are very powerful small/medium river rods that WILL stop any barbel in its tracks, but I always thought that for general barbel fishing were just a bit too powerful, so I also got a pair of Chimera no.2's. There's a huge difference between them! I found the no.2 too soft, too through action and not powerful enough, so sold them. The Snag and Flood rods are fabulous very powerful through action rods, but in recent years I've been using Fox FX twin tip rods, again with the 2.25lb a powerful rod, but for me a better action, tip to middle action, and I've not used the flood and snag rods much in the last few years, so I am going to sell them near the start of the season!

I would say that rod is perfect for the job it was designed for "FLOOD AND SNAG" ,
But for general Barbel fishing ,Chimera 2 would be a good choice or Torrix 2lb 👍

Loved the Chimera 2, was indifferent about the 3 and Flood and Snag.
Went over to the Torrix blank when they came out, but now building a Chimera 2 and Chimera 1 for me and also a Chimera 1.25.

Picture of my old Chimera 2 from 200x something.

I remember seeing your newly made Chimera no2s on the Wye Bob. Down the deeps with Rayo weren't we? What a fabulous blank Harrison developed. I don't use mine as much these days but still have a pair which I should dust off for the low summer flows on the lower Severn this coming season.
Christ we enjoyed some laughs down there! Fondly remembered days with good friends

Some great days with some great friends as you say Paul. Remembered with fondness.
All the best hope things are well.
