Drennan Super Specialist Compact Twistlock

I was using one up until this season when I went down Severn Stoke when the river was low and it would just about of reached the water if I’d of needed it (blanked so didn’t matter). I went out and brought the 1.6m one and have just used that since. I think if you’ve got the big one then no need for the small one

Agree . . .I have the compact and its a little inadequate for some rivers . . .use it mainly for stillwater stalking - get the bigger one

If you are the kind of angler that fishes small (still) waters with short rods (11' and shorter) the Compact might make some sense. For most of the folks frequenting a barbel forum, I can't see the point. I have both Compact and Standard. The compact only sees any use when I fish a snug little day ticket pond for its largely ignored big roach. Even then, it was a largely frivolous purchase made because it was cheap.
