just picked up a shimano triple x 14ft match rod in as new condition for £25. it looks a beautiful rod with spliced tip any one had one of these rods as I’m sure they were made around 1990 I’m very impressed with it

Great old school rods.
Never handled one personally but I had an old 13ft twi power with spliced tip and it was a little cracker for small becks and streams on the stick.

I had a 13 foot shimano triple taper tip or ttt in the mid eighties lovely rod but if my memory serves me right lent itself to the waggler more than the stick float, I think I paid well over £100 for it gave it to my brother and think he still has it.
