Pike Fishing On The Kennet

John Hasler

Senior Member
I'm interested in having a go for pike on the kennet but have never fished for them on running water. So basically I am a bit stumped how to keep the baits away from the crayfish. Float fishing would be ok in a slack but not elsewhere.

Float or sunken float paternoster will stop the crays stealing your bait.
Make sure you use an up-trace and rotten bottom so you don't get any bite-offs or tethered pike. :)
