Which Deeper?

Has anyone got experience of using Deeper sonars? I'm going to buy one for help with a new big pit with lot of bars and weed.

Not interested in the fishing finding part of it, it would be for finding weed beds and bare patches, bars and deep areas, up to 70 yards

Any advice on which model would do the job?

Mines a pro plus. Quite old now but does the job.
All models will do as you ask. The very latest top end chirp version is incredibly detailed compared to lesser older versions but they all show you the features, weed, depths and drop offs.
Don’t dismiss the fish finding aspect too quickly. One fundamental thing that I use my deeper for probably more than other things is finding shoals or pockets of roach or dace or Rudd etc in the depths of winter.

If your a pike angler and you fish dead baits, it will get you more runs by telling you where the bait fish are.

Thanks. Finding shoals of Roach on one of the big reservoirs I fish would be very helpful.

The chirp is definitely the best for showing intricate details. Sometimes mine has mistaken a shoal of bait fish for mid water weed but I’ve learned to adapt to that and have a cast anyway

I purchased the chirp version. You download the app to a phone and it gives you a wireless real time sonar map of the bottom. I've only used it a few times, and two times on pits where I've fished and caught in the past. It indicates with colour coded contours supplying information of bottom softness etc. I've not used it in the past year. It quickens up information gathering that leading and plumbing gives. It's not essential kit, and you wouldn't want to crack it off on a big river like the Trent.

I've had the pro+ for a few years now and it does the job. If I was buying new I'd get the chirp+ 2. I have a wire trace on mine in case it gets attacked by a pike.

You can discern weed, silt and harder ground with it.

I was watching a fellow member of my syndi' use one on his bait boat to bait up prior to a session and he showed me a spot that he'd baited previously that he said was quite weedy, it was now clear. So when I came home I treated myself to a new smart boat and deeper attachment for it.

There's currently a paid upgrade for the app' that improves the quality of the imagery or something along those lines??

I have the chirp also, helped me find some river features in deeper stretches I think I would have struggled finding the conventional way
