Ebay madness

Now that is ebay madness lol.
Mind you these will go for a stupid amount of money for what is basically a 15yo basic bite alarm

15 years Jeremy? I don't thing Steve bought these st/st versions out anything like 15years ago...if you mean the basic design, then fair enough. However, the St/St versions always were expensive, and once Steve sold the rights for them to Nashy and stopped making them himself, these originals became collectors items.

Just wish I had had the foresight to buy a few sets, lol.

Cheers, Dave.

I thought they were at least that old as i had some of the nash one years ago. They are very rare agreed but when they go for around £800 a set i think it madness

The trouble with all the 'named' items is that we users are always competing against the collectors. Once an item gets a 'name' designation the prices just become ridiculous, regardless of whether the kit is actually any good!
Seems to go in cycles though, prices will probably drop again after Christmas.

I've got a shakey boron mach match rod 13ft with spliced tip from 1987, never use it????????
i thought i lost it, found it the the loft.
it's a green colored blank, from bennetts , no idea how much i paid.

I know the Borons Dave, possibly Shakeys best ever rod. There is a bit of a cult following on these, cracking chub and roach rod.
Has it got the chrome guides or the lined fuji's??

Jon

lined, didn't know they were fuji's, i'll get up there sometime and drag it out.

i don't know if its the origanal version as i never brought it ,i won it in a game of poker in 2004 (kings over aces beating queens over eights) but i could easily check as i know a few match anglers who'd know .

i supose i could sell it and put the money towards something i might actually use .

i put my stradic on e-bay the other night and it barely made the hour out before it was snapped up ,it really is madness the money somethings are fetching
