Am I the only one that feels sorry for anyone driving a defender on the road - it's like they have their faces squashed up against the glass the cabin is that tight!

You can recreate the experience at home! Just sit on an uncomfortable chair with an aquarium over your head!!

Seriously though I find my Defender pretty comfortable, especially since raising the seat on "Mud Rails" and removing the bulkhead behind the seats (and fitting a bar to replace the bulkhead)
 
I couldn't do one myself. I get a feeling that can only be a sympathetic claustrophobia every time I see one being driven, and I kid you not!
I found a Transit Connect a pretty good fishing buggy. It's ECU used to control engine revs low down via a livewire accelerator to control stalling but served well at getting it out of all but the worst conditions. If that failed I had some German snowchains in the back.
